Jeanie has enjoyed a career as both a veterinary technician and a credentialed, professional animal trainer for over three decades. She has often dreamt of the day that the field of veterinary medicine would finally begin to embrace the scientific approach to animal training, which she has always embodied.
It was the late (beloved) Dr. Sofia Yin who insightfully encouraged Jeanie to pursue board certification as a veterinary behavior nurse. Jeanie became a Karen Pryor Certified Training Partner in 2019, under the world-renowned Animal Trainer Laura Monaco Torelli, she completed the rigorous process of becoming one of approximately 25 Board Certified Veterinary Behavior Technician Specialists, globally, in 2021. Jeanie is a dedicated Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional Level 3.
Jeanie provides behavioral consultation and treatment for canine, feline, and the occasional avian patient. She established Canine Liaisons Behavior and Training service in 1998 and has taught countless puppy, beginner, and advanced obedience classes. Her special interest is canine aggression, fear, and anxiety. She is a passionate and supportive educator of animal trainers, rescues, shelters, and veterinary professionals.
Jeanie has provided behavioral treatment in both clinical and real-world settings, in collaboration with board certified veterinary behaviorists (DACVBs) since 2011. She currently provides behavior modification and behavioral therapy to the patients of several veterinary behavior services and private veterinary practices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
When not helping patients, you will find Jeanie hiking with her spouse and their dogs in the idyllic trails near their home!
