Hello,

I am pleased to share some background information on my professional experience in animal behavior, training, and veterinary technology, which has led me to my current role as a non-prescribing veterinary behavior specialist.

I have been dedicated to the field of animal behavior and training since the age of 11, starting with training horses and dogs. My parallel career as a veterinary technician began at age 15, and I have worked in both fields for forty years. By age 19, I focused on pets with significant behavior issues, leading me to establish my first dog training business, Canine Liaisons Behavior and Training, in 1998. Since then, I have taught numerous obedience classes, specializing in canine aggression, fear, and anxiety, and serve as an educator for animal trainers, rescues, shelters, and veterinary professionals.

My formal credentials include becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in 2012 and a Karen Pryor Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP) in 2019. In 2021, I completed the rigorous process to become a Board-Certified Veterinary Behavior Technician Specialist, VTS (Behavior). I am one of approximately 33 globally and am currently the only VTS (Behavior) practicing from Maine to Maryland. I am also an Elite Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional.

I provide behavioral consultation and treatment for canine, feline, and occasional avian patients. My field experience includes 13 years as the lead behavior modification technician for three different veterinary behavior specialty services. Since 2011, I have collaborated with Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists (DACVBs) and primary care veterinarians, providing behavioral treatment in both clinical and real-world settings. I currently offer client education, behavior modification, and behavioral therapy to patients across several veterinary behavior services and private veterinary practices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

I have unmatched field expertise in helping dogs with significant behavioral issues, including severe aggression. I am passionately dedicated to helping my canine, feline, and avian patients live their best lives with their loving families.

Sincerely,

Jeanie
